Happy Birthday Mike.
- New Mix: FMH
Still in New York and, inspired by all the music junkies around me, I finally made a mix that I’ve been talking about for like 2 years. It’s called “Feel My Horns” and as the name hopefully implies, it’s all powerful, horn-driven music. I tried to spread it across a few styles – Afrobeat, Brass Band, Dub, Salsa, Klezmer, Jazz, Soul, Hip Hop, etc. Hope you like it.

- Christina Minimal
Christina Milian’s got a new song out. It’s produced by The Dream, of whom I am a fan, and demonstrates his admirable restraint as an arranger. Up until this point, Milian has failed to make any musical impression on me; however, she has made a consistent, powerful visual impression on me. This new song may point to a future in which my eyes and ears can finally operate in something close to synchronicity – but it’s also possible that this is just me overestimating the potential of the project as an excuse to post the above photo.

- Cream on the inside, clean on the outside
Wicked new mixtape from my man Jeru AKA DJ Haas. This one was inspired by a trip to Houston and is mostly dirty south woodgrain material. If you’re into that sort of thing, download immediately. I’ve had this on repeat for about a week.

PS – I noticed that a lot of people looking for the song referenced in the post’s title are ending up here via Google. I’m a big fan myself, so here’s that song on its own…
